Mika at Warwick Castle

Date: 07th July 2024

Location: Warwick Castle

The stage was set for an unforgettable Sunday evening at Warwick Castle and Mika delivered on every front. For those who haven’t been lucky enough to visit the castle during its summer events, the historic grounds are transformed into a vibrant mini-festival ground; street food and cocktail vans line the grass and offer a feast for the senses as you walk through the ticket gate.

Princess Superstar kicked off the night with high energy and a clear passion for performing. Her setlist both began and ended with “Perfect (Exceeder)’”, a nod to the song's recent resurgence following its inclusion in 2023’s hit movie Saltburn. Despite a relatively quiet audience during most of her set, the crowd erupted with excitement when she replayed the track, underscoring the infectious nature of her performance. Her skirt and shirt added a dynamic visual element, keeping the audience engaged.

Mika's entrance was nothing short of theatrical, perfectly fitting for a venue that featured a catapult as part of the festivities. His charisma was undeniable, as he effortlessly had the audience eating out of the palm of his hand. A true showman, Mika even joined the crowd for “Big Girls”, sending everyone into a frenzy before bringing the mood back down with a more mellow song. His poetic and calm speech, combined with a playful approach, made for a truly unique show. His dedicated fanbase, spanning nearly 20 years, still showed immense love and support, adding to the electric atmosphere.

His performance was an exquisite mix of old and new songs, with Mika controlling the audience's volume with a mere gesture of his hands. His beautiful suits and the picturesque backdrop of the sun setting over Warwick Castle added to the enchantment of the evening. Talent oozed from Mika as he showcased his polished skills from his first album to his latest hits. The night was a testament to his enduring appeal and artistry, leaving fans with memories to cherish.
