A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie Live in Birmingham

Bronx born, New York-native A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie concluded the UK leg of his ‘Better Off Alone’ Tour at Birmingham’s Utilita Arena on 5th May 2024, with support from Philadelphia-based rapper Fridayy.

As it approached showtime, the stage curtains rose to dramatically display a coliseum backdrop adorned with arches, each of which housed a live band member with Boogie’s DJ situated in the middle of the ensemble. Boogie took to the stage shortly before 9:30pm rocking a pair of Timberland boots and jeans, as well as a hoodie to embody the essence of his stage name. For just over an hour, fans vibed to ABWDH’s music whilst witnessing the rapper perform effortlessly on stage alongside a team of incredible backup dancers. As the band members performed the instrumental backing tracks live, the stage cinematically came to life with pyrotechnics, sending scorching bursts of fire into the air at the front of the platform, along with smoke canons, which ignited the audience's view of the American MC to an entirely new level.

Towards the latter part of the night, the chart-topping artist, equipped with a t-shirt canon, shot out a few pieces of signed merchandise to lucky people amongst the crowd, all of which jumped to be the one to try and catch the free piece of concert memorabilia. Shortly afterwards, Boogie’s DJ asked the crowd to “open one big circle” and, following his request, a collection of other smaller mosh pits also opened within the standing crowd. As if the whole night wasn’t visually and audibly impressive enough, an abundance of confetti fell from the ceiling onto the crowd below as the closing song blasted out, culminating in a truly monumental finale.

Be sure to check out ABWDH’s forthcoming album, Better Off Alone, which is available to pre-save and pre-add on all streaming platforms now, and due for release on 17th May 2024.
